Which kit fits a standard 60-inch tub alcove?

Kit A, the 38 x 60 tray, is sized for that alcove. Kit B's 48 x 48 square tray does not span 60 inches.

Does kit B include a drain grate?

No. Kit B ships with the Kerdi-Drain flange but no grate, so you buy a Kerdi-Drain grate separately. Kit A includes a stainless steel grate.

Is B worth it over A?

Only if your shower is square. B is $557.82 at Amazon versus $610.00 for A as of November 4, 2026, but add the grate price to B before deciding.

Do both kits avoid a mortar bed?

Yes. Both use a prefabricated sloped tray with integrated KERDI waterproofing, so no mortar bed is needed.

Which has more buyer feedback?

B, with 76 ratings at 4.7 of 5. A has 13 ratings at 4.8 of 5.

Can I cut the tray to fit?

Schluter trays can be trimmed at the perimeter, but cutting changes the slope and drain alignment, so measure your rough opening first.
