Questions and answers
- Which is better for side sleepers?
- The Sleenova SoundMask. Its 4mm speakers sit flat over the ears, while the Sleep A30 puts silicone tips inside the ear canal, which many side sleepers find uncomfortable.
- Does the SoundMask cancel noise like the Sleep A30?
- No. The Sleep A30 uses adaptive active noise cancelling. The SoundMask masks sound with audio and blocks light, but it does not cancel noise electronically.
- Which has longer battery life?
- The Sleep A30, at up to 58 hours with its charging case. The SoundMask runs up to 20 hours of continuous playback per charge.
- Is the Sleep A30 worth the extra money?
- Only if you need active noise cancelling or a microphone for calls. At $150.00 at eBay versus $67.00 for the SoundMask as of November 3, the SoundMask covers sleep masking for less.
- Can I use the SoundMask without a phone?
- Yes. It has built-in offline audio, so it plays without a connection. Bluetooth streaming is also supported if you want your own audio.
- Which is easier to keep clean?
- The SoundMask. Its electronics are removable, so the mask is machine washable. The Sleep A30 is IPX4 and should be wiped, not washed.
