Questions and answers
- Are these the same shoe?
- Yes. Both are the ASICS Magic Speed 5, style 1013A183.300, with the same 190 g weight, 37.5-30.5 mm stack and full-length carbon plate. The only real difference is the seller and the price.
- Which is cheaper?
- The eBay listing at $139.00 as of November 3, 2026, against $178.16 at Amazon. That is about $39 less for the same shoe.
- Is the Magic Speed 5 good for a first marathon?
- It is a neutral carbon-plated racer with a 7 mm drop and regular cushion. It suits runners who want race-day speed, but the firm plate is less forgiving over long distances than a max-cushion trainer.
- How should women size it?
- Order 1.5 sizes below your usual running shoe size. A women's 9.5 means ordering a size 8, because the shoe uses unisex sizing.
- Is it worth paying more at Amazon?
- Only if Amazon's returns and delivery matter more to you than the $39 difference. The shoe itself is identical.
