Which is better for commuting?

The Setohet has the bigger battery and motor, so it holds speed and range better on longer rides. The Varun is lighter with smaller wheels, which suits short city trips and easier storage.

Is the Setohet worth the lower price?

Yes on paper: $299.99 buys 750W and 432Wh against 500W peak and about 281Wh for $319.99. You give up the included accessory pack and add about 50 lb of bike to move around.

Which has more range?

Both claim up to 45 miles. The Setohet's 432Wh battery gives it more headroom, while the Varun's 281Wh pack makes 45 miles realistic only in low pedal assist.

Which is better for hills?

The Setohet's 750W motor has more power, but it is a direct-drive hub, which is weaker off the line. The Varun's 45 Nm peak torque and 7 speeds help on moderate grades up to about 10 degrees.

Do both have removable batteries?

Yes. The Varun uses a 36V 7.8Ah pack and the Setohet a 36V 12Ah pack, both removable for charging indoors. Charging takes 4 to 6 hours on the Varun and 5 to 6 on the Setohet.

Which suits a taller rider?

The Setohet, with 26-inch wheels and a 52-inch frame. The Varun's 24-inch wheels and compact frame fit shorter riders better.
