Which is better for a beginner rigging a bare kayak?

The YakAttack starter pack. It includes the rod holder, mount, paddle holder and cup holder a bare kayak lacks. The YakGear kit only gives you a crate.

Which holds more tackle?

The YakGear crate. It takes 3 or 4 tackle boxes plus a small cooler bag. The YakAttack pack includes one TracPak storage box.

Is the YakAttack pack worth $29 more?

Yes if you need mounts and holders. Six accessories at $100.00 at eBay cost less than buying them separately. Skip it if your kayak is already rigged.

Do they fit the same kayaks?

Not the same way. The YakGear crate fits most 13" x 13" tank wells and decks. The YakAttack parts need a compatible track or GridLoc mounting surface.

The YakAttack pack uses UV-stabilized polymers and stainless steel hardware, which suits salt and sun. The YakGear crate is plain plastic with a 3-year warranty.

Can I use both together?

Yes. The crate can sit in the tank well while the YakAttack holders mount on tracks. They do not compete for the same space.
