Is the Dyson V8 Animal good for pet hair?

Yes. It is the pet-focused version of the V8, with tools for upholstery and tight spots, and owners report strong hair pickup on floors and furniture.

How long does the battery last?

Expect roughly 40 minutes on the lowest setting and much less, around 5 to 7 minutes, on max power. Run time drops as the battery ages.

Is $172.53 a good price?

It is the only new price listed as of November 6, 2026, at Online Store, so there is no competing new price to compare against. The V8 line has been discounted heavily as newer models arrived, so check the price history before buying.

What comes in the box?

The V8 Animal typically ships with the vacuum, battery, charger, wall dock and a set of tools including a motorized floor head and a crevice or combination tool. Confirm the exact tool list with the store.

Can it replace a full-size vacuum?

For apartments and light daily cleaning, many owners use it as their main vacuum. For deep cleaning large carpeted homes, a corded upright still has more suction and a bigger bin.

Does it convert to a handheld?

Yes. The wand detaches so the motor and bin become a handheld vacuum for stairs, cars and couches.
