Is the Pentium Gold 6500Y fast enough for college work?

Yes for documents, web research, email and video calls. It struggles with video editing, large spreadsheets or many heavy apps at once, because it has only two cores.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The listing shows 16GB as the maximum RAM, so memory is likely soldered or already maxed. The 240GB SSD can usually be swapped for a larger drive, but check the model's service manual first.

How long does the battery last?

The 38Wh battery is rated at about 6 hours. Expect less with bright screens and video; the USB-C PD charger tops it up faster than a standard barrel charger.

Does it have a touchscreen?

No. The 15.6-inch 1920x1080 IPS display is non-touch, with a 60 Hz refresh rate.

What ports does it include?

USB 3.2, USB 2.0, HDMI, a microSD slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C charging port, plus WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Is $257.88 a good price?

It is the only new price listed as of November 8, 2026, so there is no range to judge against. For 16GB RAM and a 1080p IPS screen, it is low, but the older CPU and DDR3 memory are the trade-off.
