Is the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 15AMN8 worth it?

At $379.99 at BJ's Wholesale Club as of November 3, 2026, it is a fair price for a Ryzen 5 laptop with a 1080p matte screen. It suits everyday work but not gaming or heavy editing.

How does it compare with the IdeaPad 3 it replaces?

The Slim 3 15AMN8 uses a newer AMD Ryzen 5 platform and a thinner, lighter chassis than older IdeaPad 3 models. The 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD limits are the same class of trade-off.

How is the battery life?

Lenovo rates this class of IdeaPad for roughly a full day of mixed light use, and the efficient Ryzen 5 helps. Expect less when streaming video at full brightness.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 256 GB SSD can be swapped for a larger drive, but the 8 GB of memory is soldered on many Slim 3 configurations. Check the exact model before buying if you plan to upgrade.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and its power adapter are included. There is no mouse or sleeve in the box.

The lowest recorded price since November 1, 2026 is $379.99, the same as the current BJ's Wholesale Club price. Holiday and back-to-school sales are the usual times for deeper discounts.
