Is the HP OmniBook 3 16 good for students?

Yes for notes, papers and streaming. The 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD are the limits if you run heavy apps or store lots of video.

Can you upgrade the RAM or storage?

HP does not list upgrade details for this model. Treat the 8 GB and 256 GB as fixed unless a service manual confirms otherwise.

The listed ports include HDMI only. Check the full port list on the HP spec sheet before buying if you need USB-C.

Is $422 a good price?

It is the lowest new price among the 5 stores listing it as of November 5, 2026, so it is a good entry point for this configuration.

Only light or older titles at low settings. It uses AMD integrated graphics and a 60Hz screen, not a gaming GPU.

Expect the laptop and its power adapter. HP does not bundle a mouse or sleeve with this model.
