Is the Lenovo LOQ 17.3 worth it at $1,199.99?

It is a fair price for a 17.3-inch laptop with an RTX 5050, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, but it is the top of its recent range. If you are not in a hurry, watch for a drop below this.

Is the 60Hz screen a problem for gaming?

For shooters and esports it is a real limitation; 144Hz panels are common at this price. For slower single-player games and general use, 60Hz is fine.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

The LOQ line generally allows RAM and SSD upgrades, but confirm the slot layout for this exact configuration before buying. It already ships with 16GB and 1TB, so upgrades are optional.

How does it compare with the RTX 4050 version?

The RTX 5050 is the newer GPU and should give a modest performance gain over an RTX 4050 LOQ. The rest of the machine, including the 60Hz screen, is essentially the same.

Is it too heavy to carry to class?

At 6.4 lb plus the power brick, it is a desk machine more than a daily backpack laptop. If you commute with it often, a 15-inch model will be easier.

Gaming laptops like this tend to dip during back-to-school and holiday sales. Track the price history and buy when it falls below the current $1,199.99.

About the Lenovo LOQ 17.3" Gaming Laptop Intel Core i5 13450HX 16GB RAM RTX 5050 1TB SSD

The Lenovo LOQ 17.3 is a budget-minded gaming laptop with a 17.3-inch 1080p screen, an Intel Core i5 13450HX and an Nvidia RTX 5050 GPU, plus 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. The big screen and full-size chassis are the draw, but the panel is a 60Hz non-glare display, which is slow for competitive gaming. At $1,199.99 at Lenovo as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range, so waiting for a dip is reasonable.
