Our take on the Lenovo Idea Tab 11 Wi-Fi 128GB Tablet With Pen

The Lenovo Idea Tab 11 is an 11-inch Android tablet with a 2560 x 1600 display, 128 GB of storage, 4 GB of RAM and a bundled pen. The 2.5K screen and included stylus are its main draws at this price, and the 14-hour battery rating suits all-day note-taking and streaming. It weighs 17 oz, so it is a stay-at-home or bag tablet rather than a one-hand reader. The latest listed price is $159 at Distritech as of November 3.

Questions and answers

Is the Lenovo Idea Tab 11 worth it?
At $159 at Distritech as of November 3, it is a strong value if you want a big, sharp screen and a pen without spending iPad money. If you need heavy multitasking or pro apps, spend more.
Is 4 GB of RAM enough?
It is fine for browsing, video, notes and one or two apps at a time. Expect reloads and slowdowns if you keep many apps open or edit large files.
Does it come with the pen and a keyboard?
The pen is included, which is unusual at this price. A keyboard is not, so plan on a separate Bluetooth or folio keyboard if you will type a lot.
How long does the battery last?
Lenovo rates it at 14 hours, which in practice means a full day of mixed streaming, reading and note-taking. Heavy gaming or long video calls will cut that down.
Is it good for students?
Yes, for notes, textbooks and PDFs, thanks to the pen and the 2.5K screen. It is not a substitute for a laptop for heavy writing or specialized coursework.
When is it cheapest?
Budget Android tablets like this one usually drop around Black Friday, back-to-school season and Prime Day. Check the price history before buying outside those windows.
