Is the Lenovo V14 G5 worth it at $629?

At $629 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, you get an i7-13620H, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD, which is strong hardware for the money. It is a good buy if you value speed and light weight over battery life and premium materials.

How long does the battery last?

Lenovo rates it at about 7 hours. Real-world use with Wi-Fi and a bright screen will likely land below that, so plan on carrying a charger for full workdays.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

Configurations ship with 16GB or 32GB RAM and a 512GB or 1TB SSD. Check the specific listing for whether memory is soldered or has a free slot before planning an upgrade.

Does it have a touchscreen?

The listing marks touchscreen as yes, but touch is usually a separate configuration on this model. Confirm the exact SKU you are buying shows touch before you order.

How does it compare to the previous V14 generation?

The G5 moves to Intel's 13th-gen H-series chips, which are noticeably faster than the older U-series parts in prior V14 models. The trade-off is higher heat and shorter battery life.

The only price recorded since November 1, 2026 is $629, so there is no lower point to wait for yet. Watch for back-to-school and Black Friday cuts, when business laptops like this typically drop.

About the Lenovo V14 G5 IRL 14" Laptop Core i7-13620H

The Lenovo V14 G5 IRL is a 14-inch business-class laptop with an Intel Core i7-13620H, a 10-core hybrid chip that handles office work, spreadsheets and light photo editing well. It pairs a 1920x1080 screen with 16GB DDR5 RAM, a 512GB or 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, a fingerprint reader and a 3 lb body. The listed 7-hour battery is modest for the class, and the 2.4 GHz figure is the chip's base clock, not its boost. At $629 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it sits at the only price seen so far in its short price history, so there is no discount to judge against yet.
