Is the HP 15-fc0132ds good for schoolwork?

Yes for essays, research and video calls. It struggles once you open many tabs or run heavy apps, because it has 4 GB of RAM and a dual-core processor.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

HP's 15 series usually has one accessible memory slot and a replaceable drive, but confirm the exact configuration before buying. Adding RAM to 8 GB and a larger SSD is the biggest speed and space upgrade.

Does the touchscreen work with a stylus?

It is a capacitive touchscreen, so it responds to fingers and basic capacitive styluses. It does not support pressure-sensitive active pens.

How long does the battery last?

HP rates it at up to 13 hours. Expect less in real use, roughly 6 to 9 hours of browsing and video, with the backlight and screen brightness turned down.

Is $196.15 a good price?

That is the only price recorded so far, $196.15 as of November 1, 2026, so there is no history to judge it against. For a 15.6-inch touch laptop with an SSD, it is a low entry price.

What ports does it have?

The listing confirms HDMI. HP's 15-fc line typically also includes USB-A and USB-C ports and a headphone jack, but check the full spec sheet for the exact mix.
