Is the Downburst fully waterproof?

The main compartment is rated IPX5, which handles rain and splashes but not submersion. The external fabric is water-resistant and dries quickly, so use a dry bag for anything you might dunk.

How much can it carry?

It holds 24 liters, enough for a day hike, a commute or a light overnight. There is one main compartment plus a hydration sleeve and a key clip, so bring pouches for small items.

Is it good for women?

Yes. It is sold as a women's pack with a women's-specific harness and back panel, and Osprey lists it as unisex-compatible too.

Does it work with a hydration bladder?

Yes. It is hydration system compatible, with a sleeve for a bladder and a route for the hose.

When is the best time to buy it?

The lowest recent price was $149.98 on October 31, 2026, against $179.97 at Steep & Cheap on November 6, 2026. Watch for sales around late October and holiday periods.

The backpack itself. A hydration bladder is not included, so buy one separately if you plan to use the sleeve.
