Is the Skyway Epic 27" worth it?

At $83.99 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, it is a low-cost soft-sided spinner with four wheels and expansion. If you check bags often and want more protection, a hard shell may hold up better.

Is it really 27 inches?

The listed exterior height is 23.25 inches, which is shorter than most 27-inch check-in bags. Confirm the dimensions with the store before you buy if size matters.

Does it fit airline check-in limits?

At 23.25 by 14 by 9.25 inches it is under most major US carriers' checked-bag limits of 62 linear inches. It is too large for most carry-on sizers.

No built-in lock. The zippers are lockable and TSA-approved, so you add your own TSA padlock.

How much does it expand?

The main compartment expands about 2 inches in depth, adding room for souvenirs on the return trip.

Only one store lists it new, so discounts depend on Macy's sales. Watch for holiday and luggage-event markdowns rather than expecting cross-store price competition.

About the Skyway Epic 27" Check-in Spinner

The Skyway Epic 27" is a soft-sided check-in spinner made of twill polyester, with four dual 360° spinner wheels, a telescopic handle, and two easy-access exterior pockets. It expands about 2 inches for extra packing room and has lockable zippers that are TSA-friendly. At 6 lbs it is light for a 27-inch bag, though the listed exterior height of 23.25 inches is closer to a large carry-on than a true 27-inch check-in. The best new price is $83.99 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no meaningful recent price range to compare against.
