Is the Stratum 3.0 Medium Spinner worth it?

At $109.19 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026, it is a reasonable buy for occasional checked-bag travel. If you fly often, a sturdier shell and better wheels are worth the extra money.

Is 24 inches carry-on or checked?

Checked. At 24 inches it exceeds most airlines' carry-on limits, so plan to check it and expect checked-bag fees.

Does it have a TSA lock?

No. This model has no built-in TSA lock, so add a TSA-approved padlock if you want one.

How does it compare to the Samsonite Winfield 2?

The Winfield 2 uses thicker polycarbonate and has a TSA lock, but costs more and weighs more. The Stratum 3.0 is the lighter, cheaper option with a more flexible shell.

How much does the Stratum 3.0 Medium Spinner weigh?

8.8 lb. That is light for a 24-inch hard-shell checked bag, which leaves more of your airline weight allowance for packing.

Hard-shell luggage usually drops around Black Friday and pre-summer sales. The $109.19 at Macy's as of November 3, 2026 is the only new price found, so compare against that before buying.
