Is the Lenovo V14 Gen 4 worth it?

For basic work, school and browsing, yes. At $641.40 at Macy's as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for an octa-core 14-inch laptop with a 1080p screen. If you need more than 8 GB of RAM or a brighter display, look elsewhere.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

Storage is usually upgradeable through the M.2 slot, but RAM is often soldered on V-series models. Check the exact configuration before buying if 8 GB is not enough.

How does it compare with the IdeaPad 3?

Both are budget 14-inch laptops with similar AMD chips. The V14 is aimed at business buyers and often ships with a matte screen and longer warranty options; the IdeaPad 3 is the consumer equivalent.

Is the battery good enough for a full day?

Lenovo rates it at 8 hours. Real-world mixed use is usually shorter, so expect to charge it during a long day. It charges over USB-C.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and a power adapter. It does not include a mouse or sleeve.

Budget Lenovo laptops tend to drop during back-to-school and Black Friday sales. Compare the $641.40 Macy's price against the other new listing before buying.
