Is the Mooncool Electric Trike good for someone who cannot balance a two-wheel bike?

Yes. Three wheels keep it upright at stops and low speeds, and the step-through frame means you do not swing a leg over. It still weighs about 90 lbs, so plan where you will park it.

How far can it go on one charge?

Mooncool claims 30 to 40 miles per full charge from the 36V 14.5Ah battery. Range drops with hills, heavy loads, cold weather and throttle-only riding.

Does it have hydraulic or mechanical brakes?

The listing is inconsistent: the brake type says mechanical disc while the brake highlights say hydraulic. Ask the seller which brakes the shipped model has before you buy.

Top speed is 16 mph, which is below the 20 mph Class 2 limit many e-bikes use. That is fine for errands and paths but slow for keeping up with traffic.

Can it carry groceries or a heavy rider?

Yes. The load capacity is 350 lbs, and the 7-speed drivetrain helps on inclines when loaded. Check that the rear basket or rack you want fits the frame.

Is $616.99 a good price?

That is the best new price across 3 stores as of November 7, 2026, at Walmart. Electric trikes with this battery size and load rating often cost more, so it is a low entry point.
