Is the Vivoactive 5 worth it?

Yes for most shoppers who want GPS, heart rate, sleep and stress tracking with a bright screen and long battery life. At $149.99 at the lowest recent price, it undercuts most AMOLED GPS watches. Skip it if you need cellular calls or offline maps.

How is it different from the Vivoactive 4?

The Vivoactive 5 moves to a 1.2-inch AMOLED display, adds Body Battery, sleep coaching, wheelchair mode and more sports apps, and keeps up to 11 days of battery life. It drops the older model's music storage on some versions, so check the listing if offline music matters.

How long does the battery last?

Garmin rates it at up to 11 days in smartwatch mode. GPS use and always-on display cut that significantly, so heavy runners should expect to charge more often.

Does it work with an iPhone?

The listed supported OS is Android. Garmin's watch does pair with iPhones for core features, but some messaging and payment functions are more limited, so confirm before buying if you use iOS.

Yes. It is rated 5 ATM and has a pool swimming app, so it handles swimming and showering. Avoid high-speed water sports and hot showers, which can degrade the seals over time.

Its recent low was $149.99 on November 2, against a high of $201.99 on October 30. Watch for drops around Black Friday and spring sales, when Garmin watches typically discount most.
