Is 8GB of RAM enough?

For browsing, email, video and office apps, yes. If you keep dozens of tabs open, run virtual machines or edit large photo files, 8GB will feel tight, and it is soldered so it cannot be upgraded later.

Is the touchscreen worth it?

The 2560 x 1600 panel is sharp and the 120Hz refresh makes motion smoother. Touch is a bonus on a laptop; the resolution and refresh rate matter more day to day than the touch layer.

Only light ones. Intel integrated graphics handle older or simple titles at low settings, but this is not a gaming laptop.

How does it compare with the MacBook Air?

The XPS gives you a touchscreen and Windows at a lower price here. The MacBook Air generally offers longer battery life and stronger efficiency, especially with 16GB of memory.

What comes in the box?

The laptop and its power adapter. A sleeve, mouse or dock is not included, and given the limited ports you may want a USB-C hub.

The only recorded price is $599.99, so there is no history to time a purchase against. Watch for holiday sales, when XPS 13 models typically see their deepest discounts.
