Is this set forged or stamped?

Stamped, cut from a single piece of high-carbon steel. That makes the blades thinner and lighter than Zwilling's forged lines like Pro or Four Star.

Are the handles wood?

No. The handles are black plastic with a triple-riveted look. Only the block is acacia wood.

Can the knives go in the dishwasher?

Zwilling lists them as dishwasher safe, but hand washing keeps edges sharper and protects the block.

What is included in the 15 pieces?

Chef's, bread, utility, paring, boning and steak knives, kitchen shears, a 9-inch sharpening steel and the acacia block.

Is $229.99 a good price?

It is the best new price found across 6 stores as of November 8, 2026, but it sits near the top of the set's recent range. Waiting for a block-set sale is reasonable.

How does it compare to Zwilling Four Star?

Four Star is forged with a molded polypropylene handle and costs considerably more. Twin Gourmet is the entry tier: lighter, stamped and plastic-handled.

About the Zwilling Twin Gourmet 15-Piece Knife Set

The Zwilling Twin Gourmet 15-piece set is a stamped, high-carbon steel knife block set with an acacia wood block, kitchen shears and a 9-inch sharpening steel. Blades are ice-hardened to about 57 Rockwell and carry a full tang, but the handles are plastic, not wood. It is a budget-tier Zwilling line, and its 2.5-star average from 62 ratings reflects that. At $229.99 at Macy's as of November 8, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent range rather than in deal territory.
