Is the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 2-in-1 worth $729?

At $729 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, you get a 15.3-inch touch convertible with 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and WiFi 7. That is fair for a large-screen 2-in-1, but the price has not moved since tracking began, so there is no discount to chase right now.

How does it compare with a MacBook Air or a cheaper IdeaPad?

It offers a bigger touchscreen and tablet modes that a MacBook Air does not, but it is heavier and its Intel graphics are weaker for gaming. Against cheaper non-convertible IdeaPads you pay extra for the 360-degree hinge and touch display.

How long does the battery last?

Lenovo rates battery life at up to 11 hours. Real-world use with the touchscreen and WiFi will be shorter, so expect a full workday only with moderate brightness.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

RAM is expandable up to 32GB, and the 512GB M.2 SSD can be swapped for a larger drive. Check the service manual before opening the case, since some configurations solder memory.

What comes in the box?

You get the laptop and its charger, plus three months of Microsoft 365 Personal. A stylus is not listed as included, so buy one separately if you plan to write or draw.

The lowest price tracked is $729 at Walmart on November 2, 2026, the same as the current price. Watch for holiday sales, since convertibles like this often get cut in November and December.
