    Questions and answers

Is it worth it for a first rock tumbler?
Yes, if you want a low-cost, all-in-one kit for a child. It includes stones and grit, so there is nothing else to buy except batteries. Expect beginner-level results, not mirror-polished gems.
    Does it come with batteries?
No. The tumbler is motorized and battery-powered, but batteries are not listed as included. Budget for a set of batteries, since tumbling runs for days at a time.
How long does a batch take?
Plan on several weeks. Each grit stage runs for days, and you rinse and change grit between stages before the final polish. The small barrel also limits you to a modest handful of stones per batch.
    What age is it for?
The recommended age is 8 and up. Younger kids can watch, but an adult should handle grit changes, rinsing and cleanup.
    What is in the box?
The motorized tumbler, assorted rough stones, grit and water. You supply the batteries.
Is the price likely to drop?
The lowest daily price on record is $25.99, set on October 30, 2026, and it has not moved since. There is no recent lower price to wait for, so buying now costs the same as watching.
