A 4K laser projector for movie nights at home

Questions and answers

Is the Dangbei DBOX02 Pro worth $799?

At $799 at B&H Photo-Video-Audio as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a native 4K laser projector with Google Assistant. It makes sense if you can darken the room; in daylight, 2,000 lumens will look washed out.

Is 2,000 lumens bright enough?

For a dim or dark room and a screen up to about 100 inches, yes. In a room with windows open or lights on, the image will look flat, so plan for light control or a brighter projector.

Laser or lamp — what's the difference here?

The DBOX02 Pro uses a laser light source, so there is no lamp to swap and brightness holds steadier over time. Lasers still fade gradually and are not user-replaceable in most projectors.

What's in the box?

Expect the projector, a power cable and a remote. Check the listing for a carry case or HDMI cable, since bundles vary by store.

Does it work with a soundbar or AV receiver?

Yes. It has HDMI and Bluetooth, so you can send audio to a soundbar over Bluetooth or wire a receiver through HDMI.

When is it cheapest?

Projector prices drop around Black Friday and major sales. At $799 as of November 4, 2026, it is already near the bottom of its recent range, so waiting may not save much.
