Is the Malcolm sofa comfortable for everyday sitting?

Yes for most people. The pocket coil and foam seat is on the firm side, which suits daily use and holds up better than soft foam, but shoppers who want a plush sink-in couch should look elsewhere.

How does faux leather hold up over time?

It resists spills and wipes clean easily, which is its main advantage. Expect it to show wear after several years, and avoid harsh cleaners and direct sun to slow cracking or peeling.

Will it fit in a small living room?

At 77 inches long and 32.5 inches deep, it fits most apartments and smaller living rooms. Measure your doorway and hallway first, since the frame does not break down for delivery.

Can I remove the cushions to wash the covers?

No. The seat and back cushions are attached and the covers are not removable, so clean the faux leather with a damp cloth and mild soap.

Is the seat deep enough for tall people?

The seat depth is 22 inches and the seat height is 19 inches, which is average. Taller users often find it a bit shallow for lounging with legs stretched out.

When is the best time to buy it?

Furniture discounts cluster around Black Friday, Memorial Day and Labor Day sales. Check the price history on this page to see whether the current price is near its low.

About the Homelegance Malcolm Sofa

The Homelegance Malcolm is a 77-inch Lawson-style sofa in faux leather, with attached back and seat cushions, straight arms and a solid wood and plywood frame. Foam over pocket coils gives it a firmer, more supported sit than a basic foam sofa, and each seat is rated for 300 lbs. It is a low-maintenance, modern-looking three-seater for everyday living rooms, though the attached cushions mean you cannot rotate or flip them.
