Is the HW-S801D worth it at $647.99?

It is a fair price for a 3.1.2 Atmos bar with a wireless sub, but it is about $18 above the $629.99 low seen on October 30, 2026. If you can wait for a sale back near that low, you save a little.

Do I need rear speakers with this soundbar?

No. The S801D is a 3.1.2 setup with up-firing drivers in the bar itself, so it simulates height without rears. For true surround you would need a model with separate rear speakers.

Does it work with a non-Samsung TV?

Yes. It connects over HDMI eARC, optical or Bluetooth to any TV. Q-Symphony, which pairs the bar with Samsung TV speakers, only works with compatible Samsung sets.

How wide is the soundbar?

The listed 1.4-inch width is not credible for a bar of this class; expect roughly 2.5 feet wide. Measure your TV stand or wall space before buying.

The soundbar, wireless subwoofer, remote, power cables and wall-mount hardware. An HDMI cable is not always included, so check before installing.

The lowest price tracked recently was $629.99 on October 30, 2026. Soundbars typically drop during Black Friday and end-of-year sales, so watch for a return to that level.
