Is the fenix 8 AMOLED Sapphire worth it?

If you dive, train seriously and want a sapphire-and-titanium watch with a bright AMOLED screen, it is one of the most capable multisport watches you can buy. Casual users will get most of the same tracking from cheaper Garmin models.

How is it different from the fenix 7?

The fenix 8 moves to an AMOLED display with an always-on option, adds dive capability and leakproof buttons, and offers cellular connectivity. The fenix 7 uses a lower-power MIP screen with longer battery life in some modes.

What is the battery life?

Battery life depends on the model and settings; the 51 mm version lasts longest, and always-on AMOLED, cellular and heavy GPS use shorten it noticeably. Expect several days of normal smartwatch use and much less with continuous GPS.

Which size should I choose, 47 mm or 51 mm?

The 51 mm case suits larger wrists and gives the longest battery life; the 47 mm is easier to wear daily and for smaller wrists. Both use the same 1.4-inch AMOLED display.

Does it work with an iPhone?

The listed supported OS is Android, and some cellular and messaging features work best on Android. Basic Bluetooth tracking and notifications generally work with iPhones, but check Garmin's compatibility list before buying.

The only recorded price is $550.00 at Distritech as of October 30, 2026, so there is no price history yet to show a seasonal low. Watch for discounts around major sales events and when a newer fenix model launches.
