Is the Lenovo IdeaPad 5i 16" 2-in-1 worth it at $699.99?

At $699.99 at Staples as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair price for 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD and a 16-inch touchscreen. It makes the most sense if you want a big convertible for home or school and do not need a color-accurate display.

How does the Core Ultra 5 225U compare with older IdeaPad processors?

The 225U has 14 cores and 18 threads with Intel Arc integrated graphics, a step up from prior U-series chips in everyday multitasking and light graphics. It is not a gaming or workstation chip.

How long does the battery last?

The laptop has a 57Wh battery with Rapid Charge Boost, which should give a full day of light use. One listed spec says 2 hours, which is far below what a 57Wh cell normally delivers, so treat that figure with caution.

Is the screen good for photo or video editing?

No. The 1920x1200 IPS panel is rated 300 nits and 45% NTSC, so colors look muted and it struggles in bright light. It is fine for documents, web browsing and streaming.

What ports and wireless does it have?

It has USB-A, USB-C and HDMI ports, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. There is no mention of a card reader or Thunderbolt.

The current $699.99 at Staples as of November 5, 2026 is already near the low end of its recent range. Watch for holiday sales, when convertibles like this often drop further.
