Not listed yet: Home Depot, Lowe's, Kohl's, Macy's, Wayfair, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sephora. Their policy pages couldn't be read when we checked, and we only list terms we've confirmed on a store's own page.
Getting your money back
- Keep your receipt or order number, and note the date: most windows count from purchase, Apple's from delivery.
- Ask the store, not a screenshot: Target, for one, checks the price on its own site and won't accept screenshots.
- Marketplace and third-party sellers usually don't qualify, even on the big stores' own sites. Check who sold the item before you count on an adjustment.
- It often pays to compare before you buy: in our price study, among products sold at four or more big stores, one store picked at random averaged 15.6% above the lowest listed price; comparing three cut that to 3.7% on average.
