Our take on the 100 Unopened Basketball Cards in Factory Sealed Packs

A lot of 100 unopened basketball cards in factory-sealed packs, listed as 1990 edition and tied to Michael Jordan and other NBA players. The appeal is the sealed-pack gamble: a chance at early-1990s Jordan and star cards at a low per-card cost. At $38.50 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price tracked, so there is no recent range to compare against. Buyers should treat it as a mystery lot, not a curated set.

Questions and answers

Is it worth $38.50?
Only if you value the experience of opening 100 sealed 1990 packs. The cards themselves are mostly common base cards worth little, so do not expect to recoup the price.
Will I get a Michael Jordan card?
No card is guaranteed. Jordan is named as an athlete in the listing, but a 100-card lot from 1990 will usually be mostly commons.
Are the packs really unopened?
The listing says factory sealed and unopened. With a 2.3 rating, check the seller's condition notes and return policy before buying.
Is this a good investment?
No. 1990 basketball base cards were printed in huge numbers, and loose lots rarely hold value. Buy graded singles if you want something that appreciates.
When is the price lowest?
