Our take on the 18 Ga Cordless Brad Nailer, 20V Compatible

This is a battery-powered 18-gauge brad nailer aimed at trim, casing and light flooring work, sold without a battery. It weighs 4.85 lb, which is light for a cordless nailer and close to many pneumatic guns. The listing's spec sheet is inconsistent (120 V, ½AA battery, 10 psi max), so confirm the real battery platform and voltage before buying. The best new price is $164.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, and it has held that price since October 31, 2026, with only one store listing it new.

Pros
  • No hose or compressor to drag around
  • Light at 4.85 lb for a cordless nailer
  • 18-gauge brads suit trim, casing and light assembly
  • Battery operation works well on ladders and in finished rooms
Cons
  • Sold without a battery, so add that cost
  • Spec sheet lists 120 V and a ½AA battery, which cannot be right for a 20V tool
  • No NRTL safety listing stated
  • Single store at one price, so no real price competition
  • 10 psi maximum is far below what a brad nailer needs; treat it as an error

Questions and answers

Is $164.99 a good price for this nailer?
It is the only new price on record, $164.99 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, and it has not moved since October 31, 2026. There is no lower price to compare against, so judge it against bare-tool prices for name-brand 18-gauge cordless nailers.
Does it come with a battery?
No. The listing says batteries are not included, so budget for a battery and charger unless you already own them for this platform.
What battery does it actually take?
The listing says 20V compatible but also lists 120 volts and a ½AA battery, which conflict. Confirm the real battery platform with the seller before ordering.
What nails does it fire?
It is an 18-gauge brad nailer, so it takes standard 18-gauge brads for trim, casing and light assembly. It is not a finish nailer for structural work.
Is it good for baseboards and trim?
Yes, that is its main job. At 4.85 lb it is manageable overhead and on ladders, and no hose means no dragging a compressor through finished rooms.
Does it have a safety certification?
The listing states no NRTL listing. If certification matters for jobsite or insurance requirements, ask the seller for documentation.
Where is the 18 Ga Cordless Brad Nailer, 20V Compatible cheapest?
At Walmart, for $164.99, as of our latest check.
Is the 18 Ga Cordless Brad Nailer, 20V Compatible at its lowest price?
Yes: $164.99 is the lowest price we've seen for it since October 31.
