Our take on the 1880 Hospitality FF2148G 48 Inch Wire Shelf

The 1880 Hospitality FF2148G is a 48-inch-wide, 21-inch-deep wire shelf in green epoxy coating, NSF listed for commercial kitchens and storage rooms. It is a single shelf, not a shelving unit, so it needs compatible posts or brackets to stand. At $271.40 at eBay as of November 8, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Best forCommercial kitchens and dry storageReplacing or adding a shelf on an existing green epoxy unitWet or humid rooms where chrome would rustNSF-inspected food service setups
Pros
  • Green epoxy coating resists rust and moisture better than chrome
  • NSF listed, so it passes health inspection for food storage
  • 48 by 21 inch footprint holds a full run of sheet pans and stock pots
  • Wire design lets air circulate and keeps dust from settling
Cons
  • Sold as one shelf only; posts and brackets cost extra
  • 1.6 out of 5 from 54 ratings is a poor buyer score
  • Green epoxy can chip and expose bare metal if dragged
  • Heavy loads can bow wire shelves without a center support

Questions and answers

Does the shelf include posts?
No. The FF2148G is a single wire shelf. Posts, brackets and split sleeves are sold separately and must match the shelf's 48 by 21 inch size.
Is it NSF certified?
Yes. It is NSF listed, which matters for commercial kitchens that face health inspections.
What is it made of?
Green epoxy-coated wire over a metal frame. The coating resists rust in damp rooms but can chip if the shelf is dragged.
How much weight does it hold?
1880 Hospitality does not publish a load rating for this shelf. Wire shelves of this size typically need a center support for heavy loads.
Why is it rated so low?
The 1.6 out of 5 score comes largely from buyers who expected a complete shelving unit and received one shelf without hardware.
Is $271.40 a good price?
It is the only new price listed as of November 8, 2026, at eBay, so there is no recent range to judge it against. Compare it with the cost of the posts and brackets you still need.
What do buyers say about the 1880 Hospitality FF2148G 48 Inch Wire Shelf?
