Our take on the 20 Mil Clear PVC Vinyl Fabric [54"x1 Yard]

This is a single cut yard of clear 20 mil PVC vinyl, 54 inches wide, sold as raw fabric with no grommets or hardware. At 20 mil it is heavy stock: stiff, fully waterproof, and built to take abrasion and cold. It suits people making or repairing clear panels, windows, and enclosures rather than buying a finished tarp. No current price was supplied for this listing, so check the live price against the finished 20 mil clear tarp version before ordering.

Pros
  • 20 mil thickness is durable and puncture resistant
  • 54-inch width covers most panel cuts with little waste
  • 100% waterproof
  • Holds up in cold weather
  • Continuous yardage on multi-yard orders, so no seams from pieced strips
Cons
  • No grommets or edge finishing, so you add hardware yourself
  • Stiff and heavy at 20 mil; awkward to fold and sew
  • Clear vinyl can yellow and scratch over time
  • One-yard cut is small for large enclosures

Questions and answers

Is 20 mil vinyl thick enough for an outdoor window panel?
Yes. 20 mil is among the heavier clear vinyls sold as fabric and is commonly used for boat enclosures, porch panels, and greenhouse glazing. It is stiff, so plan on fasteners or framing rather than draping it.
How is multi-yard yardage shipped?
Orders ship as one continuous length up to the roll length, so 5 yards arrives as a single 5-yard piece, not five 1-yard cuts. That keeps seams out of long panels.
Does it come with grommets or hardware?
No. It is fabric only. Finished 20 mil clear tarps with grommets are sold separately if you want a ready-to-hang sheet.
Can I sew or heat-weld this vinyl?
Heavy PVC can be sewn with a strong machine and vinyl needle, or joined with vinyl cement or heat welding. At 20 mil, home sewing machines may struggle; test on a scrap first.
Will it stay clear outdoors?
Clear PVC resists water and cold well but can yellow and haze with long UV exposure. Keeping it out of direct sun and cleaning with mild soap extends clarity.
When is the price lowest?
No price history was provided for this listing. Compare the per-yard price with the finished 20 mil tarp and with other 20 mil clear vinyl sellers before buying.
What do buyers say about the 20 Mil Clear PVC Vinyl Fabric [54"x1 Yard]?
