Our take on the 3-in-1 Cordless Weed Trimmer 24V

This is a 24-volt cordless string trimmer that converts to a brush cutter, with a straight shaft and a 7.6 lb build. Its 6-inch cutting width is narrow even for a light-duty trimmer, so expect slow going on anything but small edges and light grass. The 2.8 out of 5 rating from 14 ratings is weak for a cordless trimmer, so check the battery and warranty before buying. No current price was provided, so compare against 24V trimmers from Ryobi, Greenworks and Worx before committing.

Best forLight trimming around small yards and edgesBuyers who want one tool for string and brush workOccasional use where a cord would be a hassle
Pros
  • Cordless 24V design frees you from an extension cord
  • Converts between string trimmer and brush cutter
  • Straight shaft gives better reach under fences and decks
  • Light at 7.6 lb for a convertible trimmer
Cons
  • 6-inch cutting width is very narrow; most string trimmers cut 10 to 15 inches
  • 2.8 out of 5 from 14 ratings is a poor owner score
  • 24V is low power for brush cutting, even with a metal blade
  • Battery and charger may not be included; check the box contents
  • No brand name given, so parts and battery support are uncertain

Questions and answers

Is this trimmer worth buying?
Only for very light trimming. The 6-inch cut and 2.8 out of 5 rating make it hard to recommend over a 10-inch or wider 18V or 40V trimmer from a known brand.
Does it come with a battery and charger?
That is not stated. Confirm before buying, since a 24V battery and charger can cost as much as the tool itself.
Can it really cut brush?
It has a brush-cutter mode, but 24V is low power for thick stems. Expect it to handle weeds and light saplings, not dense brush.
How does it compare with a corded trimmer?
A corded trimmer gives more power for less money but limits your reach. This one is cordless but narrow and low-powered.
How long does the battery last?
Runtime is not published. With a 24V pack and a 6-inch cut, expect short sessions, so a spare battery is worth budgeting for.
What do buyers say about the 3-in-1 Cordless Weed Trimmer 24V?
Rated 2.8 out of 5 from 14 ratings.
