Is this kit worth $349?

At $349 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is fair but not a standout. DeWalt brushless combo kits often sell near this price on promotion, so compare before buying.

How does it compare with DeWalt's brushless XR kits?

The XR brushless kits use more efficient motors, run cooler and usually include higher-capacity batteries. They cost more, but they last longer under heavy use.

The kit includes the drill/driver, the DCS885 impact driver, the DCL040 LED work light, two 20V lithium-ion batteries, a DCB112 charger and a kit bag.

Do the batteries fit other DeWalt 20V tools?

Yes. The 20V Max batteries work across DeWalt's 20V Max line, including saws, sanders and nailers.

When is this kit cheapest?

DeWalt combo kits usually drop during Black Friday, Father's Day and spring tool events. Watch the price history rather than buying at list price.

Is it too heavy for casual use?

The full kit weighs about 19.6 lb, mostly batteries and bag. The drill alone is manageable; carrying the whole bag around a job site gets tiring.

Our take on the 5 Piece Dewalt 20V Cordless Drill Combo Kit

This is a DeWalt 20V Max cordless combo kit built around a drill/driver and impact driver, with a work light, two lithium-ion batteries, a charger and a kit bag. The tools use DeWalt's brushed motors and two-speed gearboxes, so it is a solid general-purpose starter set rather than the premium brushless line. At $349 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no cheaper new option to compare against right now. Shoppers should weigh it against DeWalt's brushless kits, which cost more but run cooler and last longer.
