Our take on the 5TH WHEEL Adult Folding E-Bike 500W

The 5TH WHEEL Folding E-Bike is a 20-inch fat-tire electric bike with a 500W motor, 7-speed Shimano gearing and mechanical disc brakes. It folds for storage and transport, and the wide 3-inch tires handle gravel, dirt and rough pavement better than narrow commuter tires. It is aimed at beginners and riders from 5'1" to 6'2". The best new price is $499.97 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, and it is the only new listing tracked, so there is no recent price range to compare against.

Best forCommuters who need to fold the bike for storage or a car trunkBeginners and casual ridersRiders on gravel, dirt or uneven pavementCampers and RV owners wanting a compact second bike
Pros
  • Folds down for tight storage and transport
  • 20-inch fat tires add stability and comfort on rough surfaces
  • 500W motor gives useful assist for hills and loaded rides
  • 7-speed Shimano gearing lets you pedal normally when the battery runs low
  • Fits a wide rider height range, 5'1" to 6'2"
Cons
  • Mechanical disc brakes, not hydraulic, so stopping power and lever feel are basic
  • Fat tires and a folding frame add weight, which makes carrying it folded a chore
  • No listed battery capacity or range figure, so range is hard to judge before buying
  • Only one new price tracked, so there is no history to show whether $499.97 is a low point

Questions and answers

Is the 5TH WHEEL folding e-bike worth $499.97?
At $499.97 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is a low entry price for a folding fat-tire e-bike with a 500W motor and 7-speed Shimano gears. It is the only new price tracked, so compare it against other folding e-bikes in the same class before deciding.
How fast does the 500W motor go?
The listing does not state a top assisted speed. As a Class 2-style e-bike with a 500W motor, expect assist up to about 20 mph, but confirm the class and speed limit with the seller before buying.
What is the range on a charge?
The listing does not give battery capacity or range. Range depends on rider weight, terrain, assist level and temperature, so ask the seller for the watt-hour rating if range matters to you.
Will it fit me?
The listed rider height range is 5'1" to 6'2". Riders outside that range should check the seat and handlebar adjustment before buying.
Can I ride it without the motor?
Yes. The 7-speed Shimano drivetrain lets you pedal it like a normal bike, though the fat tires and folding frame make it heavier than a standard bicycle.
What comes in the box?
The listing does not detail the box contents. Folding e-bikes in this class typically ship with the charger, pedals and basic tools; confirm with the seller whether a charger and any accessories are included.
Where is the 5TH WHEEL Adult Folding E-Bike 500W cheapest?
At Walmart, for $499.97, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the 5TH WHEEL Adult Folding E-Bike 500W?
Rated 4.3 out of 5 from 152 ratings.
