Our take on the 6-Light Modern Drum Chandelier 21" Farmhouse Linen Chandelier

This is a 21-inch drum chandelier with a black finish and six sockets, styled for modern farmhouse and transitional rooms. The wide drum shape spreads light evenly over a dining table or kitchen island rather than pooling it in one spot. At $130.95 at Home Depot as of November 3, it sits at the low end of what six-light drum fixtures of this size typically cost, and it is the only new price tracked.

Questions and answers

Is $130.95 a good price for this chandelier?
Yes. Six-light drum fixtures around 21 inches usually sell for $150 to $250, so $130.95 at Home Depot as of November 3 is a low price for the size and socket count.
Does it come with bulbs?
Most fixtures in this style ship without bulbs. Plan on six bulbs, and check the socket wattage limit before buying LED or Edison-style bulbs.
What size room does a 21-inch drum fit?
It suits dining tables roughly 36 to 48 inches wide and rooms of about 120 to 200 square feet. For a table over 60 inches, a wider fixture looks better proportioned.
How high should I hang it?
About 30 to 36 inches above the tabletop is standard. Over an island, hang it 30 to 36 inches above the counter.
Is it dimmable?
Dimmability depends on the bulbs and your wall switch, not the fixture itself. Use dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer.
Can it be used on a sloped ceiling?
Only if the canopy and chain or rod allow it. Check the mounting hardware before buying for a vaulted ceiling.
