Pros
  • Holds TVs up to 80 inches, more than its 70-inch width suggests
  • Tambour doors slide out of the way instead of swinging into the room
  • Drawers keep remotes and small items out of sight
  • Mid-century brown finish suits many decors
  • Closed cabinet hides consoles, cables and clutter
Cons
  • Engineered wood, not solid wood; edges can chip if moved carelessly
  • Tambour doors need a clean track to slide smoothly
  • Drawers on budget stands often have basic glides, not soft-close
  • Brown finish limits it to warmer color schemes
  • Assembly is typically required and takes time

Questions and answers

Is $299.99 a good price for this TV stand?
It is the only new price listed, $299.99 at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge it against. Compare it with other 70-inch stands with tambour doors before deciding.
Will it hold an 80-inch TV?
Yes. The stand is rated for a maximum screen size of 80 inches, even though it is 70 inches wide. Check your TV's weight and stand footprint against the top surface.
What is a tambour door?
Tambour doors are made of narrow slats that slide along a track and curve out of sight, like a roll-top desk. They save space because they do not swing open into the room.
What is it made of?
It is engineered wood with a brown finish. That keeps the price down but means it is not solid wood and can chip at corners if handled roughly.
Does it come assembled?
No. Flat-pack furniture like this usually ships unassembled and needs tools and about an hour or two to build. Two people help when lifting the finished piece.
When is it cheapest?
Wayfair runs frequent furniture sales, and TV stands often drop during holiday and clearance events. Watch the price history for a dip below $299.99.
Where is the 70 Inch Mid Century Modern TV Stand with Tambour Doors and Drawers cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $299.99, as of our latest check.
