Is the Acer Aspire 5 (2025) good for students?

Yes for papers, browsing and video calls. Pick the 16 GB RAM model if you keep many tabs and apps open at once.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

On most Aspire 5 models the RAM and M.2 SSD are accessible through the bottom panel. Check the exact configuration before buying, since some models have soldered memory.

Does it handle gaming?

Only light and older titles at low settings. There is no dedicated graphics card, so modern games will run poorly.

Is the touchscreen worth it?

It helps with note-taking and casual browsing and is rare at this price. It adds weight and uses more battery than the non-touch version.

What comes in the box?

The laptop, its power adapter and paperwork. A mouse or sleeve is not included.

Our take on the Acer Aspire 5 (2025)

The Acer Aspire 5 (2025) is a 15.6-inch mainstream laptop with a 1080p touchscreen, an octa-core Intel CPU rated up to 4.6 GHz, and SSD storage in 512 GB or 1 TB. It weighs about 4 lb and comes with 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM, HDMI, and Windows. At $389.99 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, so it is a cheap way into a touchscreen laptop.
