Is the Acer Nitro 17 worth it at $1,177?

Yes. That is the lowest new price tracked as of November 7, 2026, and RTX 4060 laptops with a 165Hz QHD screen usually cost more. It is a good value if you keep it mostly at a desk.

Can the RTX 4060 in this laptop handle 1440p gaming?

It handles 1440p well in most titles at high settings, and older or esports games run far above 60 fps. For the newest demanding games, expect to drop some settings or use DLSS.

How is the battery life?

Short. Expect a few hours of light use and well under two hours of gaming on battery. Plan to keep the charger nearby.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

The 1TB Gen 4 SSD is easy to swap or add to via the second M.2 slot on most Nitro 17 configs. RAM upgrade options depend on the exact model, so check the slot layout before buying.

Does the USB-C port support charging or displays?

The USB4 Type-C port supports up to 40 Gbps data and external displays. Charging over USB-C is limited, so use the included barrel charger for gaming.

When is the Nitro 17 cheapest?

Gaming laptops like this tend to dip during back-to-school and holiday sales. The current $1,177 at eBay is already near the bottom of its recent range.
