Our take on the Advanced Affordable Hearing HC64 Digital Hearing Aid

The HC64 is a digital behind-the-ear hearing aid from Advanced Affordable Hearing, a mail-order brand that sells direct rather than through clinics. It covers a 200–5500 Hz frequency range and runs on a single size 675 battery, the largest button cell, which typically lasts weeks rather than days. At $289 at advancedhearing.com as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed and sits at the low end of what a digital hearing aid costs. It is a budget option for mild to moderate loss, not a replacement for a fitting by an audiologist.

Questions and answers

Is the HC64 worth it compared with clinic hearing aids?
At $289 it costs a fraction of clinic-fitted aids, which often run $1,000 or more per ear. You trade professional fitting and follow-up care for the lower price, so it suits mild to moderate loss and budget-minded buyers.
How long does a size 675 battery last?
Size 675 is the largest hearing aid battery, and users typically get one to three weeks per cell depending on daily hours of use and streaming. Cells are inexpensive and sold in packs at most pharmacies.
Does it work for severe hearing loss?
No. The HC64 is aimed at mild to moderate loss. Severe or profound loss usually needs higher gain and a professional fitting, so talk to an audiologist first.
Can I adjust it myself?
Yes, it has user controls for volume, but there is no app or automatic program switching. Expect to spend some time tuning volume in different rooms.
What comes in the box?
The aid itself, a battery and basic instructions. Check the listing for ear tips or a carrying case, since accessory bundles vary.
When is the best time to buy?
It is sold direct by one store at $289 as of November 4, 2026, so discounts are rare. Watch for holiday sales or bundle offers rather than waiting for a big price drop.
