Our take on the AE77 Premium Fuzzy Cardigan

The AE77 Premium Fuzzy Cardigan is American Eagle's relaxed-fit cardigan in a mohair-blend knit with a brushed, fuzzy hand. It has long sleeves, a classic length and no hood, and it is sold as unisex across XS through XL. The best new price is $71.20 at American Eagle Outfitters as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no cheaper alternative to compare against.

Best forShoppers who want a soft, textured layer for fall and winterUnisex wearers who like a relaxed, slightly oversized fitBuyers dressing for a vintage or 1970s-inspired lookPeople layering over tees and light shirts indoors
Pros
  • Mohair blend gives a soft, fuzzy surface that stands out from plain knits
  • Relaxed fit layers easily over shirts and tees
  • Unisex sizing from XS to XL widens who can wear it
  • Classic length works with jeans, skirts and high-waisted trousers
  • No hood keeps the line clean for casual or smart-casual outfits
Cons
  • Mohair-blend fuzz can shed and pill with wear
  • Fuzzy knits snag on bags, jewelry and velcro
  • Hand wash or gentle care is usually needed, so it is not low-maintenance
  • Only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition
  • Relaxed unisex cut may run boxy on smaller frames

Questions and answers

Is the AE77 Premium Fuzzy Cardigan warm enough for winter?
It is a mid-weight mohair-blend cardigan, so it works as a layering piece rather than a coat. It suits mild winter days indoors or under a jacket in colder weather.
Does the fuzzy knit shed or pill?
Mohair-blend knits commonly shed loose fibers at first and pill where sleeves and sides rub. Washing inside out on gentle and air drying limits it.
How does the relaxed unisex fit run?
The cut is relaxed and unisex, so it sits looser than a women's fitted cardigan. Smaller frames may want to size down for a closer fit.
Is $71.20 a good price for it?
It is the only new price listed, $71.20 at American Eagle Outfitters as of November 7, 2026, so there is no lower store price to beat. Watch for seasonal American Eagle promotions, which are the usual way this cardigan drops.
What sizes are available?
Listings show XS, L, M and XL. Small is not among the listed sizes, so check stock before counting on it.
How should I care for it?
Treat it as a delicate knit: hand wash or use a gentle cycle in cold water, then lay flat to dry. Skip the dryer, which can shrink and mat the fuzz.
Where is the AE77 Premium Fuzzy Cardigan cheapest?
At American Eagle Outfitters, for $71.20, as of our latest check.
