Our take on the Aislpc R36T MAX Retro Handheld Game Console

The Aislpc R36T MAX is a budget retro handheld with a 4-inch 720x720 IPS screen, RGB-lit joysticks and a claimed library of over 18,000 classic games. It runs an emulation front end, connects over WiFi for game downloads and updates, and supports an OTG wireless controller. At $39.99 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of what these handhelds cost new, with only two stores listing it.

Questions and answers

Is the R36T MAX worth $39.99?
At $39.99 at eBay as of November 5, 2026, it is one of the cheapest ways to get a 720p IPS retro handheld. Expect budget build quality and a messy preloaded library, and treat it as a starter device.
How does it compare with the Anbernic RG35XX or Miyoo Mini?
Those cost more but have larger communities, custom firmware and better build quality. The R36T MAX matches them on screen resolution but not on support or spare parts.
How long does the battery last?
Aislpc does not list a battery capacity or playtime figure. Budget handhelds in this class typically run a few hours per charge, so plan on charging daily.
Can I add my own games?
Yes. It supports digital downloads over WiFi and USB-C transfer, so you can add ROMs for systems the built-in emulators support.
What is in the box?
The console, a USB-C charging cable and a user manual. No wall charger and no controller are included; the OTG wireless controller is sold separately.
When is it cheapest?
Only two stores list it new, so discounts are rare. Watch for eBay coupons and seller promotions rather than seasonal sales.
Where is the Aislpc R36T MAX Retro Handheld Game Console cheapest?
At Aislpc, for $69.99, as of our latest check.
What do buyers say about the Aislpc R36T MAX Retro Handheld Game Console?
Rated 4.3 out of 5 from 9 ratings.
Where can I buy the Aislpc R36T MAX Retro Handheld Game Console?
2 stores we checked sell it, including Aislpc, eBay.
