Our take on the Alexues Aluminum Full View Folding Door, 72" x 80", Right Hand

The Alexues Aluminum Full View Folding Door is a 72-by-80-inch bifold patio door with slim aluminum frames and full-height glass, sized for a 6-foot-wide rough opening. It folds to one side and is configured right-hand, so the panels stack on the right as you face the door from outside. Full-view folding doors are chosen for light and open-air access to a patio or deck; glass area this large also means heat gain and privacy need planning. No current price or price history was provided for this listing, so compare quotes across stores before ordering.

Questions and answers

Is a 72 x 80 folding door the same as a 6-foot slider?
Yes, roughly. A 72-by-80-inch door fits a 6-foot-wide, 80-inch-high opening, the same nominal size as a standard 6-foot sliding patio door. Confirm your actual rough opening before ordering, since framing tolerances vary.
What does right-hand mean on this door?
Right-hand means the panels fold and stack on the right side as you look at the door from outside. Check the swing against your wall space and traffic path before buying; a left-hand unit cannot be flipped.
Does it come with a screen?
No screen is listed with this door. Full-view folding doors usually need a separate retractable or sliding screen if you want ventilation with the door open, so budget for one.
How does it compare with a sliding glass door?
A folding door opens the full width for indoor-outdoor use and looks more modern, but it costs more, has more moving parts and seals differently. A slider is simpler and cheaper if you mostly want a fixed glass wall.
Will the glass make the room too hot?
Full-height glass can add noticeable solar heat and glare. Look for low-E or tempered glass and check the door's U-factor and SHGC ratings before buying, especially on south- and west-facing walls.
When is the best time to buy?
Patio doors often see discounts in spring and fall remodeling promotions and around Black Friday. Get at least two quotes, since lead times and freight charges vary widely by store.
