Is the All-Clad D3 8-quart stockpot worth it?

If you make stock, soup or pasta for a crowd regularly, the even heating and durability justify the price over a cheap disk-bottom pot. For occasional use, a lighter and cheaper stockpot will do.

Does it work on induction cooktops?

Yes. The magnetic stainless exterior makes it induction-ready, and it also works on gas, electric coil and ceramic glass.

Can it go in the oven?

Yes, the pot and lid are oven and broiler safe to 600°F, so you can brown, braise and finish in the oven.

Is it dishwasher safe?

All-Clad says it is dishwasher safe, but handwashing is recommended to keep the polished finish and avoid spotting.

How does it compare with the D5 line?

D5 adds two more layers for a slightly heavier, more heat-retentive pot. D3 is lighter and cheaper and heats just as evenly for most stovetop cooking.

When is the price lowest?

All-Clad and major retailers discount D3 during Black Friday and holiday sales. At $199.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is near typical street pricing, so watch for a seasonal drop.

Our take on the All-Clad D3 Stainless Steel 8-Quart Stockpot with Lid

The All-Clad D3 8-quart stockpot is a tri-ply stainless steel pot with an aluminum core bonded between two layers of stainless, sized for stock, big batches of soup, pasta and lobster boils. It is induction-ready, oven and broiler safe to 600°F, and comes with a matching lid. The best new price is $199.99 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new; that is a typical street price for this size in the D3 line rather than a deep markdown.
