Is the ZEDi-10 worth it over a cheap Behringer mixer?

Yes, if preamp quality and build matter to you. The ZEDi-10 costs more than entry Behringer models but gives you Allen & Heath preamps, a metal chassis and a usable USB interface in one box.

How does it compare with the ZED-10FX?

The ZED-10FX adds built-in effects and a slightly different feature set but costs more. Choose the ZEDi-10 if you already have outboard effects or record into a DAW; choose the FX if you want reverb and delay at the mixer.

Can I record four channels at once over USB?

Yes. The USB interface sends four channels to your computer and returns four, at 24-bit/48 kHz. That covers a small ensemble or a multitrack podcast setup.

Does it have phantom power for condenser mics?

Yes, phantom power is available on the mic inputs, so condenser microphones work without an external preamp.

What comes in the box?

The mixer, a power supply and a USB cable. No software bundle or rack ears are included.

When is the ZEDi-10 cheapest?

Prices tend to dip during retailer sales events and when a newer model is announced. Check the price history on this page before buying.

Our take on the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10

The Allen & Heath ZEDi-10 is a compact 10-input analog mixer with a built-in 4x4 USB audio interface. It combines four mic/line preamps, a 3-band EQ with sweepable mids on the mono channels, and GS-Pro channel strips with the same preamp design used in Allen & Heath's larger consoles. The USB section sends four channels to a computer and returns four, so it works as a small recording interface as well as a live mixer. It sits in the budget end of Allen & Heath's range, well below the ZED-10FX and Qu series.
