Is a box spring needed?

No. The frame has slats and center supports, so a mattress sits directly on it. A low-profile mattress works best with the tall headboard.

What size is this bed?

This listing is Full size, about 78.9 by 55.9 by 47.6 inches. Check the size before ordering, since the name does not state it.

How much assembly does it take?

It ships flat and must be assembled, typically headboard, side rails, slats and center supports. Two people help given the roughly 74 lb box.

Is $178.88 a good price?

Only one new price is listed, $178.88 at Walmart as of November 7, 2026, so there is no recent range to compare. Upholstered platform beds often run higher, so it is a low entry price.

What mattress thickness works?

A standard 8 to 12 inch mattress fits well. A very thick mattress will sit high against the 47.6-inch headboard.

Does the velvet hold up with pets?

Velvet is soft but collects hair and shows rub marks. Brush it regularly and keep claws trimmed if pets sleep on the bed.
