Is the Amazon Basics 20-piece flatware set worth it?

Yes if you need a cheap, complete service for four for a first place or a rental. Skip it if you want heavy, balanced flatware for daily family dinners.

What is included in the 20-piece set?

Four dinner forks, four salad forks, four knives, four spoons and four teaspoons. That is a full service for four people.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes, the set is dishwasher safe. Rinse off food first and avoid leaving acidic foods on the pieces to limit spotting.

How does it compare with the 20-piece set from IKEA or a department store?

It is similar in price to IKEA's basic sets but lighter than mid-range department-store flatware. Buy it for value, not weight.

How long are the pieces?

The pieces are about 25.5 cm long, which is standard dinner-size flatware. They fit most drawers and dish racks.

Our take on the Amazon Basics 20-Piece Kitchen Towel and Dishcloth Set

The Amazon Basics 20-Piece Flatware Set is a stainless steel service for four, with dinner forks, salad forks, knives, spoons and teaspoons in a plain square-edge modern design. It is aimed at first apartments, rentals, offices and casual everyday use rather than formal dining. The pieces are 25.5 cm long and dishwasher safe. It is a budget set, so expect lighter-gauge steel than department-store flatware.
