Is a corded mower worth it over a battery mower?

For a small lawn near an outlet, yes. You skip battery cost and charging, and the 11-amp motor runs as long as you do. A battery mower wins on larger or obstacle-heavy yards where a cord gets in the way.

How big a lawn can it handle?

Plan on roughly a quarter acre or less, and only within cord reach of an outlet. The 14-inch cut and 7-inch wheels are built for small, flat yards, not long or rough ground.

What comes in the box?

The mower, a steel mulching blade and a 16-gallon hard-top grass bag with a grass-level indicator. Mulching and side discharge use the same deck; no extra parts are needed for those modes.

How low and high does it cut?

Five positions from 1 inch to 2.5 inches. The low end suits a close trim; the 2.5-inch top is short for tall or summer-stressed grass, so mow before it gets long.

Yes, mulching is the default setup with the steel blade. For thick grass, bag instead so clippings do not clump on the surface.

Small electric mowers like this tend to drop in late fall and winter, and around spring sales events. Check the price history before buying in early summer.

Our take on the American Lawn Mower 14" 11-Amp 120V Corded Mower

The American Lawn Mower 14-inch corded electric mower is a small push mower for tight lawns, powered by an 11-amp motor on a standard 120V outlet. It cuts a 14-inch swath with a steel mulching blade, offers bagging, mulching and side discharge, and adjusts across five heights from 1 to 2.5 inches. A plastic deck and 7-inch wheels keep it light, and the folding handle and 16-gallon hard-top bag with a grass-level indicator make storage and emptying simple. It is a budget, no-frills machine rather than a large-yard workhorse.
