Pros
  • Large 72 x 36 inch footprint fits standard alcove openings
  • Deep Soak Max drain adds about 3 inches of soaking depth
  • Dual armrests and a contoured backrest for longer soaks
  • Acrylic surface is warm to the touch and easy to clean
  • Drop-in or alcove installation keeps the surround simple
Cons
  • 111-gallon capacity means a long fill and a lot of hot water
  • At 87 lbs it is heavy to move and set without help
  • Drop-in rim needs a finished deck or surround, adding cost
  • No shower option and no jets, so it is soaking only
  • Only one new price found, so there is little to compare

Questions and answers

Does the Deep Soak Max drain really add depth?
Yes. The drain's low-profile overflow lets you fill about 3 inches higher than a standard overflow, which is where the extra soaking depth comes from.
Will it fit a standard alcove?
It is 72 inches long and 36 inches wide, so it fits a 72-inch alcove. Check your rough opening and the drop-in rim clearance before ordering.
How much water does it hold?
The basin holds up to 111 gallons when filled. That is a large fill, so expect a long run of hot water and a higher water bill per bath.
Is it a jetted tub?
No. It is a soaking tub. The ten-jet system listed in some specs is not part of this model's standard configuration, so confirm with the seller if jets matter to you.
What does the $729.51 price include?
That is the tub price at Home Depot as of November 6, 2026. The drain, faucet, and surround are typically sold separately, so budget for those.
How many people does it fit?
The 53-1/2 by 26-1/4 inch basin is roomy for one adult and can fit two smaller adults. The dual armrests suit single soakers best.
Where is the American Standard Evolution 72 in. x 36 in. Drop-In Bathtub cheapest?
At Home Depot, for $729.51, as of our latest check.
